Dr Jo Saele

Dr. Jo Saele is a specialist Prosthodontist and implant surgeon. He was born in Norway and raised in Wales, where he now lives and works. As a registered specialist, Dr. Saele works at several multi-disciplinary practices, accepting referrals from general dentists. He completed his undergraduate training at Cardiff University where he was awarded the Margaret Probert Prize for developing and creating software to teach biopsy techniques. After qualification, he then went on to be the first dentist to receive the DTR Medical Innovations Award in 2014. Subsequently, he completed further postgraduate training in implant placement, short term orthodontics, facial aesthetics, smile design, and advanced restorative dentistry. He then attended the University of Minnesota, USA, to complete a clinical externship. His experiences and natural flare for aesthetic, functional dentistry then led him to attend and complete a 3 year specialty training programme at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Here he achieved first class honours. Upon completion of his training, he was awarded a certificate of completion of specialty training (CSST). This made him eligible to sit the Royal College of Surgeons Prosthodontic examinations which he subsequently passed. Dr. Saele is now a registered specialist Prosthodontist in the United Kingdom, but lectures extensively both nationally and internationally. Dr. Saele provides care for patients requiring the most complex treatments such as tooth wear, cosmetic dentistry, replacement of missing teeth, functional issues, TMJ issues and full mouth rehabilitations. In his spare time Jo enjoys rugby and travelling and has represented Norway at senior international rugby playing in the European leagues, but now dedicates his time and passion for dentistry.
