What’s better – Angel Aligners or Invisalign?
Angel Aligners and Invisalign straighten teeth in the same way, using a series of clear plastic trays that move your teeth a little at a time. Both can only be prescribed and supervised by a registered dentist or orthodontist. Where they differ is in the plastic itself, the way the trays are staged, how attachments are handled, the software behind your plan, and what you end up paying.
None of that decides whether your treatment works, though. That comes down to how complex your case is and how well your plan is built. What are Angel Aligners?
Angel Aligners come from Angelalign Technology – a company set up in 2003. The brand has only reached UK practices fairly recently, which leaves some patients assuming the technology is new. However, they have been making aligners for over 20 years.
The trays are staged differently from most systems. Angel Aligners Pro work on a two-part cycle called 7+3, so you wear a softer, more flexible tray for seven days to apply gentle, steady pressure. After that, you swap to a firmer tray for three days, which gives closer control over each individual tooth.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign has been in use since the late 1990s, and Align Technology reported in mid-2026 that clinicians had treated around 23.5 million patients with it. Nothing else on the market comes close.
Because it’s been around so long, there’s far more published research behind Invisalign than behind any rival system. The trays use a material called SmartTrack, chosen because it stretches and holds its shape, and your treatment gets mapped out in ClinCheck software before the first tray is made.
All that time in the market has also produced a large pool of trained providers. Invisalign at The Mayhill in Monmouth is offered by general dentists and specialist orthodontists alike.
Where Angel Aligners and Invisalign differ
Side by side, most of the differences between the two, Angel Aligners and Invisalign, affect how treatment feels and what it costs rather than whether it works at all.

How much do Angel Aligners and Invisalign cost in the UK?
Neither system carries a fixed price, because what you pay depends on the number of trays you need. A mild correction using 12 trays costs a fraction of a case that needs 40, regardless of who manufactures them.
The price changes with how far your teeth have to travel and how many review appointments that takes. Refinement trays towards the end and the retainers that hold everything in place afterwards both add to the overall cost.

Is one system faster than the other?
Neither one is reliably faster, whatever you may have read. How long your treatment takes depends on how far your teeth need to move and how consistently you wear the trays.
Our Invisalign cases usually run somewhere between 6 and 18 months. Wearing time is what stretches treatment out, because both systems are built around trays sitting in your mouth for 20 to 22 hours a day. Every hour below that lets your teeth drift back a little.
Are Angel Aligners as good as Invisalign?
In the cases they suit, yes. Both are prescription medical devices, and both are planned by a clinician who has examined your teeth rather than posted you a kit.
Where Invisalign pulls ahead is in the more complex cases. If your teeth are badly rotated, you have large gaps to close, or your bite needs correcting, there is far more published research about how aligner treatment behaves compared to Angel Aligners.

What matters more than the brand name
Whether you end up with Invisalign or Angel Aligners, clear aligner treatment counts as dentistry in the legal sense. This means it can only be carried out by someone registered with the General Dental Council. The GDC has said there’s no effective substitute for a physical examination when judging whether orthodontic treatment suits you.

Final thoughts – Angel Aligners vs Invisalign
Settling on a system before anyone has examined you is a bad idea. By the time you’re in the chair, the brand you end up with matters much less than your diagnosis and the plan.
